Professional Yoga Therapy Certification

The Yoga Mountain Teacher Certification Program started in 1995, and is approved by the National Yoga Teacher's Alliance. This interactive program has instructors and students working side-by-side to develop and expand their knowledge. Both 200 and 500-hour programs are offered, as well as the Yoga Mountain Yoga Therapy program.You may pay as you go and at graduation you receive a certification honored by hospitals, schools and major insurance companies. The program is continuous and once accepted, students may enroll and begin classes at any time.

Our goal at Yoga Mountain is to make yoga accessible to everyone - the young and old working together, athlete and non-athlete alike. Yoga holds the promise of discovering how one may be strengthened, toned and refined in spirit and body. Yoga Mountain encourages gentle persistence in practicing the breathing exercises and asana (postures), meditating, and integrating the awakening consciousness into everyday life.

Gail Bentley Walsh, Director of the Teacher Certification Program, founded Yoga Mountain in 1995 after 22 years experience as a stress management seminar leader, consultant, director, actress, writer, human rights activist, Peace Corps volunteer, and yoga teacher. She leads workshops at a wide variety of businesses and corporations and is approved by Oxford Health Plans and HIP as an alternative healthcare provider.

Susan Olsen, Director of Yoga Mountain in Orange County, NY, and Ronda Lam-Dichiaro, Director of Yoga Mountain in Bergen County, NJ, graduated from the 500-hour YM certification program. Each has worked closely with Gail Walsh, and since graduating has co-taught in the certification program.
